We’ve gone from enemies to lovers, then back to enemies and now, somehow, unlikely allies. I have no idea where this relationship, if you can call it that, is going to take us next.

A small part of me is curious to find out…

Evangeline

Have Mercy Synopsis

Fool me once…shame on you.
Fool me twice?
I’m coming after you.

I never should have come to St. Bart’s without a plan. My emotions got in the way and I paid the price. But the Havoc boys should have learned their lesson by now.

Come after me and you better make sure to finish the job…

A lot has changed, but not my need for vengeance. They knocked me down, but I am more than ready to get back on my feet. But it’s going to take more than I thought possible to get my revenge. It’s going to take everything I have and more. I can’t do this alone…

Drake might be my most unlikely ally. Or, he’ll be the one who stabs me in the back in the moment I need him the most…

Have Mercy Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Ashley Gee’s second novel in the Vengeance is Mine trilogy, Have Mercy, definitely lives up to the amazing start of the series, Raise Hell. Have Mercy follows Evangeline and Drake as they navigate their relationship, the mystery surrounding what happened last year, as well as maneuvering around both The Havoc Boys and the secret society that the graduates of Havoc House are part of. Taking place immediately after the final events of Raise Hell, the story continues with Drake’s perspective as he discovers Evangeline’s fate from Raise Hell and has some vital realizations about himself. Evangeline has found herself over her head. She has feelings for Drake, she has no clue what happened to Olivia last year, and now she is on The Havoc House alumnus’ radar.

Drake and Evangeline have growth both individually and together. Drake has come out of the shadow that his father has left him in. He steps up and becomes his own person, but this comes at a cost to himself and to some of those people he loves most. Evangeline continues to show how strong and intelligent she is. Throughout Evangeline and Drake’s perspectives, they also shows they have vulnerabilities and insecurities and are written as real people. this makes them both loveable and so frustrating with their decisions. I hope they continue to grow into themselves and find a way to escape the crazy mystery surrounding the events of St. Bart’s.

Have Mercy is very well written and the plot is full of twist and turns that keep the reader engaged and turning the pages. I cannot wait for the third and final book, Cry Havoc, to be released so that I can finally see how Drake and Evangeline’s story ends! Do we finally get to find out what happened to Olivia? Does Havoc House and its secret society get brought down? What about that cliffhanger of an ending! How will that play out? Seriously, if you like enemies-to-lovers, and a modern, urban setting, this is an amazing series and I definitely recommend it!

I would like to thank BookSirens and Ashley Gee for sending me a free copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

About Ashley Gee

Ashley Gee is a romance author and part-time adult. She lives in Indiana with her husband, two children, two cats, two dogs and partridge in a pear tree (okay not really!). She doesn’t enjoy long walks on the beach because the sand gets everywhere but can often be found binging Netflix and drinking wine from Kroger. Her books feature brooding boys and the girls who bring them to their knees. And the one thing she loves more than anything else is talking about herself in the third person.
