Lost Angels Synopsis
Busy collecting prayers, on top of watching over the Archangels, it’s another day for Jude Thaddeus to prove his perfection to Father God. He intends to uphold his impeccable record and become an Archangel. Nothing must come between him and his desire.
Except…
After years of planning, Lucifer has discovered a means to kill his siblings, the Archangels. It’s a perfect plan. One he’s sure Jude will not see coming. Neither will the Archangels who’ve now become complacent, self-righteous, judgmental, and arrogant.
The battle begins when Ava, the woman chosen to veil the Sacred City of Ashbourne, cries out for help.
Everyone has a plan, a need, or a desire, except they forget the one plan that matters most—God’s. The outcome is shocking, one that triggers a never-ending battle, and unveils a love story like no other.
Lost Angels Review
Lost Angels is the prequel to Tatenda Creed’s The Lost Archangels series. I am not really a prequel kind of reader. I feel like prequels are for people who already know about the world and are just a way to bridge in information that is needed without info dumping.
This prequel felt like that. It’s only 132 pages but took me more than a week to read it. I felt I didn’t know the characters, didn’t understand what was going on, and felt we were thrown into the middle of the story without context. The story once through it is good. I will assume it provides great background info for going forward in the series. But I feel this book will be best read after ready Book One in the series. I struggled with the world building here. There is so much packed into the 130 pages that it felt off balance. This is likely because I haven’t read Book One.
Although I usually like book with religious aspects and angels, this read felt heavy. I wasn’t really connection to any of the characters, although I can see who I will like with more pages. I feel this novella would have done better with another 50 or so pages. The writing is beautiful and Tatenda is very descriptive. I see the potential of the longer books and will be giving book one, The Seer, a chance. But, I would recommend reading this novella after being introduced to the world through the main books of the series.
A special thank you goes out to Book Throne, & NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book for review!
